Lajos Istvan (Louie) Sutyor
March 21, 1936 – November 20, 2021
Mr. Lajos Istvan (Louie) Sutyor, age 85 years, passed away peacefully in St. Joseph’s Hospital early Saturday morning, November 20, 2021.
Louie was born in Oreglak, Hungary on March 21, 1936 and immigrated to Canada in 1957. He met Shirley Elizabeth Hupka and they were married and raised four children together. Louie retired from Saskatchewan Wheat Pool Elevators, where he worked for over 30 years as a Millwright. He enjoyed watching sports, particularly soccer and wrestling. He also had a great love for animals. Louie’s greatest passion was his family, and time spent with all of them brought him great joy. His loving heart and kindness will be truly missed by all who knew him.
Louie is survived by his son Frank; daughters Lynn and Donna (William) and granddaughter Carolyn as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Shirley and son Tim; parents Istvan and Veronika; brother Janos and sisters Maria and Margit.
A private family interment will take place at a later date. Should friends so desire, donations made in memory of Louie to the World Wildlife Fund or any sports association for the benefit of kids would be greatly appreciated.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Westfort Chapel, 420 West Gore Street at James.
