Brian’s Obituary
WARREN, Brian Alan – age 82, Villa St-Joseph-du-Lac, Dayton, formerly of Gilbert’s Cove, Digby Co., passed away peacefully on Monday, November 22, 2021 at the Villa. Born December 17, 1938 in Liverpool, England, he was a son of the late James and Bertha (Pauwels) Warren. Brian made his living on the sea, swallowing the anchor after 20 years as Chief Engineer aboard the MV Bluenose. His seafaring career began at the age of 19, working as a cadet on cargo freighters. Brian also worked aboard the Irving Miami as well as aboard the Princess of Acadia. Family was everything to Brian and he looked forward to their monthly Sunday dinners over the span of many years. Prior to his illness, Brian also enjoyed painting, collecting N scale model trains, cross-stitching and gardening. He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Audrey (Miller) Warren Villa St-Joseph-du-Lac, Dayton; his children, Claire (James) Goucher, Marshalltown; Todd Anderson, Digby; Beth Anderson, Arcadia; and Allaine (Joseph) Clattenburg, Leominster Mass; as well as by his grandchildren, Matthew Oliver (great grandchildren Hudson, Easton and Sawyer) Hebron. and Faith Turner-Anderson, Truro. The family will receive visitors from 1-2 p.m., Friday, November 26, immediately followed by a funeral service at 2:00 p.m., both at H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, 29 Albert Street, Yarmouth, Rev. Patrick Bright officiating. Please use the side entrance at Huskilson’s for both the visitation and the funeral. In accordance with provincial health guidelines, masks and proof of double vaccination will also be required to enter the funeral home.
