Obituary
It is with great sadness that the family of Bea Moore announce that she passed away peacefully on November 20, 2021. Beloved wife of the late Bill Moore, and devoted mother of Ray Moore (Chris) and Sue Meeks (Phil). She will also be missed as a wonderful “Mamma” to Kim Dickson, Andrew Moore, Amy Meeks (Ian), and Gayle Meeks (Steve), and Great Mamma to Connor Dickson, Reyna Kerr and Teagan Kerr. She also will be missed by her many nieces and nephews, family and friends. Bea was predeceased by her sisters (Gwen, Kay and Norma), and is survived by her brother Jack Spinks. Mom was born in Clacton on Sea, England on April 2, 1923 to the late Harry and Catharine Spinks. When the war arrived she was evacuated to go to school in the middle of England. Missing her family, she returned home and joined the WAC. She met her future husband Bill in 1943 who was fighting the war as a Canadian soldier. They were married at the end of the war and Mom arrived as a war bride in August 1946 with her young son Raymon, to join Bill in Napanee. Sports were very important and she excelled in tennis and badminton. In her later years, she took up golf and then curling. Over the years she volunteered her time in many ways. As per Mom’s request, cremation has taken place and there will be no funeral service. Hopefully we can celebrate her life in the spring of 2022. Everyone knew of mom’s love for animals and especially cats. Donations made to the Ontario SPCA Lennox and Addington Branch would be appreciated. The family would like to thank the staff at the John M. Parrott Centre and especially the staff in the Rose Garden for the kind and gentle care that you gave Mom.
