Obituary of Shirley Mae Zelko
Shirley Mae Zelko
August 31, 1937 – November 11, 2021
With heavy hearts, but many wonderful memories, we say farewell to Shirley (84). Mom passed away peacefully on November 11.
Shirley has left us to be with her parents. She will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by her husband, Edwin of 65 years who dedicated the last 30 years to the health and wellbeing of his girl, along with their furry companion, Winston. Lovingly remembered by her daughter Wanda Underhill, grandchildren Caitlin O’Neal (Devin), Ted Underhill, Claire Underhill (Michael Wyant) and great grandchildren Scarlett and Theodore Wyant and son Yancy Zelko and family, grandchildren Christopher Zelko, Jason Zelko (Ashley), brothers Edward and Stuart Emery, brother/sister-in-laws and her many friends.
Shirley was born in Yorkton, SK to Charles and Mary Emery. After high school, she worked for the Royal Bank of Canada as a teller until she married her prince on September 30, 1956 at the age of 19. She loved her role as a stay-at-home mother and wife who took pride in her garden and spending time with family in Saskatoon. Weekends spent with the family at Redberry Lake water skiing brought great pleasure in her early years along with fishing at Piprell Lake. Traveling via motorhome to local lakes with Ed in recent years was her ultimate vacation.
In keeping with Shirley’s wishes, no funeral services will be held, but we, as a family, will celebrate her many life achievements and memories.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Shirley
