Ronnie Breen 1947 2021

Obituary of Ronnie Breen
On November 13, 2021, our brother Ronnie joined his parents, John E and Mary E (Shannon): siblings: Elaine Marie, Patrick, Charles, Geraldine Goakery, John E, Rose Mary Landry (Donnie) and Malcolm (Helen), and his best buddy, Walter. Ronnie was born on February 2,1947 and was the seventh of 15 children.
Since 2009 his home was the Turnbull Nursing Home where his “family” there gave him love and care for which our family will be ever grateful. Even in a pandemic they managed for Ronnie to see his brother Walter one last time through Facetime. We thank you Mel Barrett for that. Ronnie was a gentle soul and was “Happy Sunshine” to all who knew and loved him.
Ronnie is survived by his siblings Margaret Titus, Ann Burns, Gary (Michele), Terrance, Judy Donovan, and Mark Breen; sisters-in-law, Audrey Breen and Helen Surette-Breen; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews.
Arrangements are under the care of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424). Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 14, 2021, from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM. A double Funeral Liturgy will take place for Ronnie and his brother, Walter, on Monday, November 15, 2021, at 2:00 PM in Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel. Interment to follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Due to Covid-19 health measures placed on indoor gatherings by the Government of New Brunswick, all those 12 and older attending the service or visitation will be required to show proof of vaccination and a piece of a government-issued ID or proof of medical exemption. Donations in memory of Walter can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Special Olympics, or Multiple Sclerosis Society. Online condolences may be placed at www.BrenansFH.com.

  1. Hi Sunshine! This is the first thing I think of when I Uncle Ronnie. There are so many wonderful memories of Uncle Ronnie. The time I shared a room with him and went to sleep with him calling me sunshine. All the times he kept changing the channel. The time he chased after me when I took his rubiks’ cube. And the hugs. He gave the best hugs. God bless Nanny Breen for taking good care of you all those years and feeding you some of the craziest things I’ve ever seen someone eat! But you loved it. Will miss your hugs and smiles. Rest in Peace Sunshine.
