Obituary of Naomi Rae Daignault
Peacefully with family by her side; survived by her daughters: Rena (husband Erick), Lesley (husband Bow) and Marla; grandchildren: Shannon, Shae, North, Haley and Rheo; great-grandchildren: Jessica, Shelby, Emma and Mason; great-great-grandchildren: Kane, Damon, and Loki; along with numerous nieces, nephews and lifetime friends Pam Harris and June Gillies.
Naomi was predeceased by her parents: Raymond and Marion Foster; brother Gerry Foster; first husband, Ronald Madden and second husband, Gerald Daignault. Naomi will also be missed by her partner for the past 10 years, Ronald Gunn; friends from Paradise Village and Jenny, the last of many canine companions during her lifetime.
Naomi settled into Paradise Village, Ste. Anne, MB., for the past 21 years of life, but enjoyed years in Winnipeg, MB., Burlington, ON., Comox and Mayne Island, BC., along with many wonderful summers on Lake of the Woods, Kenora, ON.
She had a proficiency in poetry, was an avid reader and had a natural talent for art. Her children and grandchildren can recite her favourite saying of “apple pie without cheese is like a kiss without a squeeze.”
We release you with love to the whispers of the pine trees, the crash of the waves and the call of the loons.
Cremation has taken place with a family gathering next year.
If friends so desire, donations in her memory can be made to your local animal shelter or the Ste. Anne Hospital, MB. The family would like to acknowledge and thank specifically Dr. Demers and the wonderful caring nurses and staff for their compassion and professionalism during a difficult time.
Do not stand at my grave and weep
Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there
I do not sleep
I am a thousand winds that blow
I am the diamond glint on the snow
I am the sunlight on ripened grain
I am the gentle autumn rain
I am the lilac, the cherry blossom, the apple tree
Gaze at the sun, at the moon, and you’ll see me
When you wake in the morning hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circling flight
I am the soft starlight on a clear night do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there
I do not sleep
