Lynn Stewart Sunday November 7th 2021

STEWART, LYNN passed away at age 91 with family by her side, at Southlake Residential Care Village on November 7, 2021. Predeceased by her husband of 42 years, Charles; her parents, Charles and Gladys Manning, and sister Grace Dunn. Dear mother to Susan (Bob) Evans, Barbara (David) Brown, Margaret Davidson, and Kimberly (Chris) Clyde. Proud grandmother to Shelby, Allison, Jonathan, Jennifer, Amanda, Melanie; and great grandmother to Ben.
Lynn’s father was a British Home Child, who was put on a ship at the age of 9 and sent to work on a farm in Canada, as were so many other children from Victorian-era London. He never allowed the harsh circumstances of his early life to define his character, and in that spirit, Mom made a habit of acknowledging how much there is to be truly thankful for every day. She worked as a Medical Secretary, and was unfailingly polite and cheerful. She felt that kind words and deeds could change the course of a person’s day, or life. She fell in love with Charles while caring for his parents, and they married and raised four awesome daughters. She was a talented artist and loved nature, music, art, poetry, people, and animals (but drew the line at snakes).
Her good nature and adventurous spirit will be dearly missed. Family service and interment to take place at a later date.
We are deeply grateful to the wonderful staff at Southlake Residential Care Village. If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Southlake Residential Care Village Social Committee, c/o Tracy Grice, which arranges well-deserved meals and social events for the staff.
