Milfid Meats Halliday Monday November 8th 2021

Milfid Meats walked into the presence of Jesus on November 8, 2021, after a brief illness. Milvie was the youngest child of William and Emily (Matthews) Halliday, and was born in Port Talbot, S. Wales, UK on April 8, 1927. In 1951, she married Ronald Meats, and they were blessed to have two children, a son, Kenwyn, and daughter, Mary. In 1965, the family of four emigrated from Wales, UK to London, Ontario. Since then, Ron and Milvie lived in Petrolia, Sarnia, and eventually moved to enjoy their retirement in Burlington. Milvie was very involved in the life of Palmer Place, and Glad Tidings church, which she attended faithfully. Earlier this year she enjoyed becoming part of the family at Burloak Long Term Care Residence.
She is currently enjoying a family reunion in heaven with her husband Ron, her parents, her sisters, Lilian, Pauline and Caroline, and her brother Edmund and many other friends and loved ones.
Milvie will be forever loved by her children Ken (Gail), and Mary (Joel) Heimbecker. Cherished grandmother of Jennifer (Matt) Barton, Anya (Dave) Bysterveld, Charity (Geoffrey) Neuman, and Rhian (Nicolas) Bennett. Much adored great-grandmother of Chloe, Andrew, Micah, Mark, Aaron, Leiah, Brandon and Owen. She will also be dearly missed by her extended family in Wales and England.
The family wish to thank the Burloak team for their care of Milvie, both in her transition to long term care, and in her final days.
Due to the current restrictions of COVID-19, there will be a private family service, with a celebration of life to be held at a future date.
In lieu of flowers, donations made in Milvie’s memory to Glad Tidings Church in Burlington would be appreciated by the family.
