We are sad to announce the passing of (Dorothy) Gail Hoffmann on October 13, 2021 after a long illness with dementia. She was predeceased by Henry, her husband of nearly 60 years, in January 2021. Gail was born in Lethbrdige to Helen and Norman McGregor. Her early years were spent in Flin Flon, MB and in her teens she moved to Calgary. Gail was an insatiable reader, a figure skater, then taught skating to put herself through University to graduate with a Bachelor of Education degree. Gail taught in Calgary for many years gathering accolades along the way. In retirement Gail and Henry moved to Invermere, BC where they enjoyed fostering children and volunteering for a number of charities. Gail’s many passions included family and friends, her community, Samoyeds and her beautiful flower garden. She is survived by her children; Eve (Arthur), Brenda (Greg), Brian (Jody), grandchildren Steen, Joel, Brittany (Graham), Joshua, Ken (Kim) and great grandchildren Aidan and Oliver.
A memorial service will take place on Saturday, December 4, 2021 at 2 pm at the Invermere Public Library, 201 – 7th Avenue, Invermere.
In lieu of flowers, the family has be set up a fund for a memorial bench in Invermere. Remaining funds will be donated to the Christmas Bureau of the Columbia Valley, Condolences may be sent to the family at dghoffmann39@gmail.com
