John Darroch
1947-2021
John George Darroch, age 74, of New Glasgow,
passed away Thursday, November 4, 2021, in the Aberdeen Hospital. Born
in New Glasgow, he was a son of the late George and Mary Josephine
(DeCoste) Darroch. He was a retired welder from Trenton Works and a
former member of the Trenton Fire Department. John enjoyed spending
time with family, dancing, camping, his daily trips to Tim Hortons and
was an avid golfer and Toronto Maple Leafs fan. He is survived by his
wife, Sharon (MacPherson); daughter, Kelly (Terry) Barnes, New
Glasgow; son, John (Jacqueline), Alberta; grandchildren: Kayla, John,
Cory, Kyle, Teagan, Tyler, Brittany and Shaelynn; sisters: Linda
Darroch; Nancy (Bert) Hayden; Brenda (Donny) Vance; brothers: Fraser
(Brenda); Gary. He was predeceased by brother, Dennis; sister, Maddie.
Visitation 7-9 pm Sunday, in the R.H. Porter Funeral Home, New
Glasgow. Funeral 11 am Monday in the R.H. Porter Funeral Home Chapel,
New Glasgow, with Fr. Tom MacNeil officiating. As per
Nova Scotia COVID-19 restrictions, all attendees must wear a mask and
show proof of full vaccination and valid ID at both the visitation and
funeral. Burial will be in Abercrombie Cemetery.
Donations in his memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s
Society or a charity of choice.
