Kristina’s Obituary
It is with broken hearts we announce the sudden passing of our beloved Kristina on Tuesday, October 12th, at 47 years old. She will be deeply missed by her loving and devoted husband Floris and her adoring daughters Antonella and Eloise. Dearest daughter of Josephine and the late Anthony Merolli, cherished sister and sister-in-law to Katherine and Tony Baines, and Pia Maria and Mat Brown. Loved daughter-in-law of Hans and Afra Peerdeman, dear sister-in-law of Vincent, Bas, and Nathalie. Loved Aunt of Stijn, Julian, Thom, Matteo, John, Rocco, and James. Adored niece of John and Lori Merolli, Frank and Rina Merolli, Rose and Frank Ventimiglia, Sam and Darlene Mantione. Kristina will be sorely missed by her cousins Andréa (Alex), Lewis (Elizabeth), Michael (Rita), Jessica (Rob), Adam, Annemarie (Sheldon), and Margaret (JP), along with countless friends and colleagues around the world. Kristina was an integral part of PMI for the last 15 years, with her life and career based in Switzerland, along with ventures in Spain and most recently a move to North Carolina. She will be remembered for her engaging and positive personality, her sharp wit, and her passion and deep care for those around her. However, her most important role was being a mom to her two beautiful daughters. Together they loved “pranking papa” and traveling the world as a family. She always made each of their birthday celebrations special with unique cake creations. Kristina was also an amazing cook and loved to feed and entertain those she loved. We will miss her boisterous laugh, her generous spirit, tenacity, and drive. We truly wish there were more “fun times” to be had. Visitation will be held at Friscolanti Funeral Chapel (43 Barton St. E) Monday, Nov 1st from 1-8 pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Francis Roman Catholic Church (Stoney Creek) on Tuesday, November 2nd at 11:00 a.m. In keeping with COVID-19 precautions, all guests are required to practice physical distancing and wear a face covering. In lieu of flowers donations to the Hamilton Food Share or The Heart & Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated by the family.
