Denise Dorothy Maginn nee Hinds October 24th 1943 October 29th 2021

Surrounded by her loving family, on Friday, October 29, 2021 at Bluewater Health, Denise Maginn passed away at the age of 78. Loving wife and best friend of the late Ted Maginn (2018) for 51 years. Cherished mother of Dave Barnes, Julie (Mark) Monkhouse and Jim (Julie) Maginn. Proud grandmother of Hunter and Eden Monkhouse and Vaughn and Isla Maginn. Dear sister of Dennis (Mary Jane) Hinds, Heather Hembruff, and Cindy (Ron) Thompson, and sister-in-law of Bob Maginn of St. Thomas. Loving aunt of the Burden girls, Teena, Debbie, Jackie, and Cindy of St. Thomas. Long time friend of Art and Doreen Sole of Sarnia. Predeceased by her parents Sydney and Nell Hinds, brother Jim Hinds, sisters Lynn Rath, Valerie Tulloch, sister-in-law Dawn Hinds, brothers-in-law Carl Rath and Jim Tulloch. Denise worked for twenty years as a secretary/ bookkeeper for K.L. McCormick Painting Company and twenty one years for St. Clair Auto Repair as office manager/ bookkeeper, retiring in 2008. Her grandchildren were her world and she was very involved in their lives. Each one held a special place in her heart, and she will be watching over them. Cremation has taken place. Family and friends will be received at Smith Funeral Home, 1576 London Line, Sarnia, on Monday, November 15, 2021 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Due to COVID restrictions, those who wish to attend must each RSVP: signup.com/go/SoOWFtq. A private graveside service will be held. Sympathy may be expressed through donations to the Inn of Good Shepherd (cheques only at the funeral home please).
