Gary’s Obituary
BYERS, Gary Wayne ~ age 64 of Coldbrook, NS passed away unexpectedly at home on Sunday, October 24, 2021. Born in Windsor, NS, he was a son of the late Murray and Pauline (Thornhill) Byers. Gary was a veteran of the Berwick & District Fire Department. He was employed for 38 years with Michelin Tire Canada at the Waterville Plant. Gary was an avid camper, enjoyed fishing and was a Montreal Canadiens and Toronto Blue Jays fan. When he was younger, he played hockey, refereed and enjoyed playing baseball. He is lovingly remembered by his wife of 42 years, Karen, Coldbrook; sister, Judy Baxter (Byers), Halifax; brother, Richard (Sandra) Byers, Dartmouth; also his niece Janice Deering (Baxter) and nephews Kevin Baxter, Scott Baxter and Troy Byers. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother-in-law Earl Baxter. Gary will be sadly missed by his fur children “Hollie” and “Charlie”. In keeping with Gary’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a celebration of his life will be at a later date. Donations in memory may be made to the Berwick and District Fire Department or charity of your choice.
