Obituary of Jimmie Graham
It is with sadness that we announce the passing of James Alexander Henry Graham “Jimmie” on October 27th, 2021 in the Palliative Care Unit of the Aberdeen Hospital in New Glasgow.
Jimmie was born in New Glasgow on August 6th 1942, the son of the late Mary Kathleen Graham (Miller)
For many years Jimmie operated a store in Central West River – Salt Springs. This store was the focal point for many in the community as well as many others making the weekend trek to and from Cape Breton and Halifax. There were always a few stories and laughs shared over one of those famous ice creams or a coffee. Prior to operating the store, Jimmie worked for Miller MacKinnon Brothers Lumber Mill and in construction.
Jimmie was a larger than life character that always had a story and some advice to share. He had a work ethic that was second to none that started early in life when he and his cousin, Marlene Miller, would play at cutting logs to load on their sleigh. He was someone that faced adversity head on and succeeded. In his own words, “There is no such word as can’t!” He passed this can do attitude on to his family.
Jimmie will be very much missed by his wife Merilda (Benoit); son Craig; daughter, Shannon Bezanson (Daryl) and his grandchildren Mackeal and Azlyn.
Jimmie was predeceased by his mother, Mary Kathleen Graham (Miller) and sister Mary Evelyn
Graham.
Pursuant to Jimmie’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. Donations may be made to the Aberdeen Palliative Care Unit.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Jimmie
