Allan’s Obituary
It is with great sadness that we, the family of Allan Richard Smith, announce his passing at Western Long Term Care Home on October 25th, 2021, at the age of 77 years.
Allan could put taste on a rubber boot. Cooking, hunting, fishing and gardening were some of his passions. Not to be outdone by his love of telling stories of his time as a Boilermaker. All completely factual, of course.
Allan was predeceased by: his wife of 54 years Laverna; his parents Benedict “Dick” and Annie Smith; and his siblings: Jean, Joe, Margaret, Gerard, Vince, and Marie.
He is fondly remembered by: his four children: Carrie of Cornwall, Allan (Tracy) of Codroy Valley, Dwayne of Fort McMurray and Delton (Sandi) of Cape Breton; his seven grandchildren: Aimee (Riley), Ethan, Alyse, Jared (Olivia), Addy, and Keenan; two great grandchildren: Charlie and Blaire; his sisters: Bridget, Tilly, Rita, and Jean (Ed); and brothers: Jerome(Petrina) and Ed (Gladys); as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, extended relatives and friends.
Following his wishes, cremation has taken place and no funeral service will be held.
A celebration of life will take place at Lucy’s Bar, Kippens, NL, on Sunday, October 31st at 2:00pm.
Please note, a Vax Pass and valid ID is required to gain entrance to this service.
