Shawn Wiebe 2021

Shawn Wiebe
Shawn Leon Wiebe was born May 25,1975 to Andrew and Colleen Wiebe in Leduc, AB. He had one sister, Andrea. Shawn grew up in Leduc, Hinton and Morinville, AB before coming to Saskatoon in Grade 2.
Shawn was a quiet, spirited, gentle giant who was generous and thoughtful. Family was important to Shawn and much time was spent going to church activities, Bible camp in the summer, fishing and camping. Relaxing out at the lake, having fun on the lake, fishing, skiing or tubing with friends brought him many a smile.
Shawn lost his father at the age of 12. Shortly after that he started perfecting his trade as a carpet/flooring installer with his Uncle Pete. He was good at anything he put his mind too; basketball, bowling, card or board games or even bringing joy to his family and friends by teasing them.
Uncle Shawn was amazing and patient with his 2 nephews Andrew (AJ) and Adam and his niece Abigail (Abbey). He will be very missed as well by his adopted family, friend group, their children and his fur baby Gia.
Sept 21, 2021, Shawn went missing. His friends, family and the police searched for weeks. Even asking for the public’s help. Tragically he was not able to be safely returned to his earthly home. The remains of Shawn were recovered and the family and friends are left with more questions than answers.
The memorial service to celebrate Shawn’s life will be held Saturday Oct 23, 2021 at 2 pm at the Saskatoon Evangelical Free Church (on the corner of Circle and Laurier Dr). Due to COVID restrictions please sanitize your hands often and wear your mask appropriately. If you cannot attend the service, it can be seen on the Saskatoon Evangelical Free Church YouTube. youtu.be/MOISiPGrta4

  1. To the Wiebe family,
I am so sorry for your loss and had prayed that Shawn would be returned to you safely.
I have sweet memories of Shawn in elementary school- quiet, kind, considerate, thoughtful and curious. He was tall for his age and blonde- I recognized him immediately in recent photos.
Please know that during this difficult time, I will be thinking of your family.
    Sincerely,
    Janice Anderson
    (Retired school teacher)
