It is with great sadness that the family of Ian Buchanan announce his passing in Ottawa, at the age of 75; teacher, grave digger, bird watcher, nature photographer, gardener, mentor, musician, a “godly man, a gentle man, a gentleman”.
Ian will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 49 years, Jean; children Sarah (Andrew Hahn) and Rebecca (Jason Edwards); grandchildren Makayla, Andraya, Nicola, Adrielle and Elliana; brother Andrew (Susan) and sister Cathie; and many close friends and relatives. He will be dearly missed by his Tuesday morning men’s group.
Arrangements entrusted to Tubman Funeral Homes. Visitation will be held at the Garden Chapel, 3440 Richmond Road, Nepean on Friday, October 22, 2021 from 2-4 p.m. Pre-registration is mandatory and can be made at www.tubmanfuneralhomes.com/obitaury/Ian-Buchanan or by calling 613-722-6559. The service of remembrance will be held on Saturday, October 23, 2021 at 10 a.m. at Kanata Baptist Church, 456 Hazeldean Rd., Ottawa.
