Spurgeon: Clive (Cliff)
Clive (Cliff) Edward Spurgeon passed away peacefully on Sat Oct 31 at the age of 85. Beloved husband to his loving wife Margaret for 49 years. Father to Trevor, Clive (Cairnlea), Corinne (Jim) and in England Valerie and Yvonne. He was a very proud grandfather to Tyler (Amanda), Joshua, Tanner (Amanda), Ryan (Bekah), Liam (Mackenzie), Paige, Kaleigh, Emily (Eric), Allison (Scott) & Jonathan. Great grandfather to Xander and Holden. Father-in-law to Valerie and Kim. Cliff was born May 18 1935 in Harrow England. He grew up working with the RAF as a mechanic assistant on Hawker Hurricane aircraft. His hobbies were bike racing and soccer. He loved his West Ham Hammers and was lucky enough to watch the 1966 World Cup Final in person at Wembley. As an adult he was a carpenter before deciding to move his new family to Canada in 1973. He continued his skilled carpentry trade working for Andre Knight Construction before being a lead with Volkswagen Canada in their quality control department. Retirement occurred in 1997 when Mum and him grew closer together. His love of travel was infectious to the rest of the family and took him and Mum all over the world. The family has lost a wonderful human being and he will be missed with reverence by all his family and friends. A celebration of Cliff’s life will be held at the Simcoe Funeral Home 38 James Street E., Orillia on Sunday October 31st, 2021 from 11: 30 until – 1:30. Tributes will be held at 12:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider sending a donation to Alzheimer’s Society made through Simcoe Funeral Home, 38 James Street E.
