It is with great sadness that the family of Louis Paul Lucien Marleau advise of his death on October 8, 2021.
Louis will be greatly missed by his family; his wife of 46 years Julie, son Justin (Kelly), granddaughters Finley & Willa, brother Marc (Shirley) and sister Suzanne (Ken). He was predeceased by his parents, sister Rene and brother, Philip.
Louis was born on July 2, 1949, in Winnipeg, Manitoba. He spent his childhood in Winnipeg and his working years throughout Manitoba including Swan River, Gilliam, Flin Flon, Thompson, The Pas and Roblin. After retiring, he and Julie moved to Edmonton to be closer to their son and grandkids.
Louis’ love of hunting and fishing ran deep and some of his favourite memories were forged while on outdoor adventures.

We are brothers but more importantly we are good friends. Hunting is nothing without the camaraderie. Sharing stories, breaking bread, and having beverages. Our father made into a harvest and stressful situation. Your fondest memories of our Dad was fishing and hunting. It was the only quality time we had with our father as stressful as he made it. Through our conversations, I got to understand who Louis Marleau was and the kind, intelligent man, he has become. As brothers we had some conflict but neither of us understood each other. We were young and had a lot of anger from how we were raised. I’m losing a wonderful friend who I’ve grown to trust and love. My brother is dying from a dreadful disease and there is nothing I can do but say good bye. I believe there is another realm of existence…. there has to be. Souls like yours need a place as they are so bright they can’t be extinguished. Say hello to our family and may there be a hunting and fishing heaven for you ….you deserve it so much. You did your best as a husband, father, pa pere, brother and friend.
