Ricky Ray Gorchinski
April 19, 1967 – September 29, 2021
It is with great sorrow and a very heavy heart to announce the untimely passing of Rick Ray Gorchinski, beloved husband of Cindy Gorchinski on Wednesday, September 29, 2021 at Penticton Regional Hospital, Penticton, BC. He was 54 years of age.
A memorial service and Celebration of Life will be held on October 12th, 2021 at 1:00p.m. at Yorkton, Saskatchewan.
Ricky attended Willowbrook Elementary school and graduated from Yorkton Regional High School in 1985. He met his new best friend and future love of his life, Cindy Bohach, in March of 1987, where they decided to move to Saskatoon together in 1988. Ricky started studying for his career in Motor Vehicle Mechanics in 1991 and began his career as a mechanic soon after. On July 11, 1992, Ricky married Cindy in Yorkton, SK where they celebrated with close friends and family. On May 27, 1993, their son Monte Ray Gorchinski was born in Saskatoon. Ricky continued his education in motor vehicle mehanics until receiving his Journeyman Red Seal. He worked a multitude of positions including areas such as heavy and light duty mechanics. Ricky and family moved to Lloydminster, AB in 2005, working in the oilfield industry as a Heavy-Duty Mechanic and MVR Mechanic. In 2018, Ricky and Cindy made a decision to move to Summerland, BC and plan for their retirement, ending his beloved career with Skaha Ford in Penticton, BC.
Ricky’s most enjoyable moments were spent with his devoted wife and friends, where he enjoyed travelling and camping to many destinations in and out of Canada. He loved doing a variety of handyman projects at home as well always offering his expertise to friends and family. When he wanted to get a way from house work, he always would discover another home project that would keep him away from helping out with the cleaning or other household duties. His favorite pastime was ending his day of hard work sitting around the firepit with Cindy, enjoying refreshments, talking about anything and everything. He will be remembered for his great wit and infectious sense of humour, his unfailing work ethics, and his generosity to others.
Ricky was predeceased by his beloved sister Sherelle in 1974, grandparents Rudolph and Dora Gorchinski, Joe and Anne Maystrowich, in-laws, Jospeh and Alice Bohach, sisters-in-law, Wanda Bohach and Tammy Patterson, and niece Sherri Bohach. Those left to cherish his memory include his life companion, Cindy Gorchinski of 29 years, his son Monte Gorchinski of Ajax, ON, parents Raymond and Elaine Gorchinski of Yorkton, Saskatchewan and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
The family of Ricky Gorchinski wishes to express our sincere thanks for the food and flowers and other expressions of love during our time of bereavement.
