Obituary of Peter David Benner
Benner-Peter David, passed away in Port Colborne, ON, on September 30, 2021, at 65 years of age from a sudden heart attack. He is survived by his loving mother Joy and his first cousins Gordon Benner (Joyce), Gary Benner (Lisa), Maureen Stuart (Jim) and Karen Benner. Peter was predeceased by his father David on August 19, 2021, and his sister Janet Lynn Castle (Brian) in 1984. Peter was born in Port Colborne and was a graduate of the Niagara College Journalism program. He lived in Renfrew County for over 30 years; first as a member of Morning Glory Commune where he received the love and mentoring that began to change his life. About 3 years later, Peter moved into the nearby town of Killaloe where he served as a volunteer manager of CKCR, the local radio station. Peter was a founder and current volunteer at Bonnechere Communications, a local internet provider and was also a broker of organic hers with Herbie’s Herbs of Toronto. From that time on, the little town of Killaloe became his home as Peter shared his intellect and positive energy with the people of the town. A celebration of his life is being planned by the community. As per Peter’s request cremation has taken place. Memorial remembrances to the charity of one’s choice would be appreciated by the family. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the DAVIDSON FUNERAL HOME, 135 Clarence St. Port Colborne, ON.

  2. My condolences and love to you, Joy, and your whole family and all your and Peter’s friends. We were very blessed to have had the opportunity to share so much life and love and joy with Peter. He certainly gave loads of love and uplifting energies to many many people. Thanks for sharing him with us, here at Morninglory and in Killaloe and beyond.
