Obituary
Agnes Smith Flesher (nee Cunningham). October 4, 1931 to September 29, 2021. Mom was born in Toronto, the oldest of four. Mom was predeceased by her parents, Robert Thomas Cunningham (from Ballyclare, Northern Ireland) and Sarah Cunningham (nee Lyttle) (from Belfast, Northern Ireland). Also predeceased by her brothers, Robert Cunningham and Ernest Cunningham. Mom is survived by her sister Kathleen Wright in Portland, Oregon. Mom and Dad (Edward James ‘Jim’ Flesher) were married on February 28, 1953. Dad died on January 10, 2008; Mom missed him dearly and wanted to be with him again for the last thirteen years. Mom is also survived by her children, Brian and Joanne Flesher (Sudbury), Carla and Jeff Haigh (Shannonville), and Catherine and Jack Guerreiro (Dubai). Mom was a proud grandmother to Mitchell Haigh, Sonya Kloostra, and their daughter, Elora (Belleville), William and Emily Flesher (Fergus) and Mallory Haigh and Andrew Mcdonald (Shannonville). ‘Aunt Aggie’ will be missed by her many nieces and nephews, family and alike, near and afar. Mom worked for many years at Eaton’s Warehouse, Blair Building Supplies and Armour Flooring in Toronto. Mom was ‘the glue that kept things together’ when Dad was working shifts and especially during ‘the Air Cadet’ years. Special thanks to Dr. Robin Morin, Dr. Marty Brown, and the nursing staff at QHC Belleville. A very special thanks to the staff at Westgate Lodge in Belleville for service ‘above and beyond’. At Mom’s request, cremation has taken place and there will not be a visitation or service. A private family internment will take place. In lieu of flowers, Mom has requested donations may be made to the Trenton Memorial Hospital Foundation or the Kidney Foundation at Kingston General Hospital.

  1. I had the pleasure of meeting Agnes at Westgate. We had many talks and laughs during my midnight shifts. She always talked fondly about her family and was proud she has a great granddaughter. I will miss you Agnes, RIP
