Obituary of Helena Ukleja
With great sadness and heavy hearts the family announces the passing of Helena Ukleja of White Lake on September 20th in her 88th year at The Arnprior Hospital. She was predeceased by her husband Eugene Ukleja. Helena Ukleja, cherished Mother of Anna Ukleja (Wade Noel), Walter Ukleja (Silvia Ukleja), Chris Ukleja (Kimberly-Ann Ukleja) and much loved Grandmother to Christopher Ukleja, Nicholas Ukleja, Jarek Ukleja and Caleb Noel. She will be lovingly remembered by her surviving sister Sabina Krzesniak of Ottawa as well as many nieces and nephews.
Helena was born in Antoniowka, Poland on August 13th 1933 and emigrated to Canada in 1971 with her family. Helena enjoyed a career at the Queensway Carleton Hospital in Ottawa and retired after more than 30 years of dedicated service to the hospital and community. Helena, a woman of deep faith and longtime member of the St. Hyacinth’s Parish of Ottawa where she enjoyed attending church. She also enjoyed gardening, shopping and spending time with family, camping or at the cottage which she did as recently as this past July.
Helena was a special person, a special Mother, Grandmother and friend to many who already miss her greatly. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the care of Coles Funeral Services.
The family would like to extend a very special Thank You to Dr. Suzuki and the nursing team at The Arnprior Hospital for their exceptional, compassionate care.
Family and friends are invited to pay respects at the Pinecrest Remembrance Centre – 2500 Baseline Rd., Ottawa, ON on Thursday, September 30th, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. noon (speeches at 11:00 a.m.). Funeral Mass to follow at 1:00 p.m. at St. Hyacinth’s Roman Catholic Parish – 24 Louisa St., Ottawa ON. Interment and reception to follow back at Pinecrest Cemetery.
