In loving memory of Philip “Phil” Joudrey.
December 25th/1930 – September 12th/2021 (Grandparents’ day).
Beloved husband of Geraldine “Jean” McGibbon, pre-deceased 2014. Loving father of Violet (Rheal Lafond), Lynn (Richard Tessier), Cindy Dupuis, predeceased (Gord Gibson), John (Shirley), Bonnie, and Tina (Leo Violette).
Wonderful “Poppa” to 12 grandchildren. Special “Great Poppa” to many great-grandchildren, cherished son of the late Percy Joudrey and Violet Sperry. Dear brother to Mayola (Joseph Payne pre-deceased), Delma (Maynard Dorey), Lavene (Roger Nauss), and Rose Joudrey. Missed by many nieces and nephews.
Philip was born in 1930 in the little town of New Germany, Nova Scotia. Incredible husband, father, friend, and Poppa. Our hero, a true legend. Dedicated to everyone he loved and anyone who needed a helping hand. He worked long days his entire life until he could no longer walk. But he never worked because he had to. He just always loved to work. Mostly to fix things. With barely any education at all, there wasn’t a problem he couldn’t solve. Always so much smarter than he’d ever admit. He never took the credit that he deserved. Worked hard and played even harder. At 75 years old, he drove a sea-doo for the first time. Of course – he nailed it! His passion was the bush and a well-tuned chainsaw. Poppa Duck, the sharpshooter of darts. Loved going to camp at Centre Lake. He honestly spent more time driving his buggy than he did his truck. An avid hunter and fisherman. He adored nature and telling stories. And boy, did he remember everything!
CELEBRATION OF LIFE: Colonial Inn; 28 Cedar St, Coniston, ON P0M 1M0 on Monday, September 20th from 3pm until 8pm
