Obituary of Margaret Kerr
Kerr, Margaret
(nee Fraser)
1933-2021
It is with great sadness we announce Mom (Margaret Kerr) of Vankleek Hill passed away peacefully at the Prescott and Russell Residence on Saturday, September 11,2021 at the age of 88. Predeceased by her beloved husband Jack Kerr. Lovingly remembered by her family, Jean (Ian Higginson), Heather, Joan (Wayne Lee), John (Lisa LeTouzel). Predeceased by her daughter Helen Redmond (Paul). Her greatest treasures called her Grandma, Curtis (Alysha, Ilish (Nigel), Michael (Melissa), Macauley, Owen and Alex. Proud great-grandmother to Dawson and Jacob. Margaret was the little sister to 4 brothers, who predeceased her: Lewis, Thomas, Roderick and Ken. She is survived by her sisters-in-law Ann Kerr and Ruth Fraser. She will be remembered in a wonderful way by her many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. They all were such a special part of her life.
Her hands were rarely still, working alongside Dad on the farm, a nurse at the Smith Clinic and later at the Heritage Lodge all while raising her 5 children. All who knew her will cherish memories of Mom’s kind support, her grace and her underlying love.
Margaret was an active member of the ACW, Women’s Institute and decorated many wedding cakes over the years.
In keeping with Mom’s nature, a Private Celebration will be held.
Those wishing to honour her life can make a donation to the East Hawkesbury United Church or the McLaughlin Cemetery.
