Dianne Kathleen Ells
1949-2021
We are deeply saddened
to announce that our mother, grandmother and sister, Dianne Kathleen
Ells, passed away at age 72, on Monday, September 6, 2021 in Shannex
Blomidon Court, Greenwich, with her children at her side.
Born in Wolfville on February 7, 1949, she was a daughter of the late
Laurie and Marion (Rand) Ells. Dianne grew up in Sheffield
Mills and spent summers at the family cottage in Halls Harbour where
she could easily be talked into jumping off the wharf. In her younger
years, she was an accomplished athlete, whether it be on the soccer
field or volleyball and basketball courts. She travelled to
Yellowknife and experienced the ice road and northern lights and later
to the Grand Canyon, where she loved roadside shopping for handmade
jewelry all along the way. Mom was a kind, caring soul, whose greatest
love was her family. She adored her children and grandchildren, who
affectionately referred to her as Gaga. She enjoyed the
simple pleasures in life, going out for coffee, dinner at the Big
Stop, a drive in the country and watching old movies and reruns of her
favourite shows. She also enjoyed a good game of cards and playing her
favourite tunes on the piano. She had a strong and unwavering faith
which helped her navigate through the challenging times during her
life. She was loved greatly and will be dearly missed. She is survived
by her children, Jill Sutherland (Greg), Bridgewater and Jason
Woodworth (Kiersten), Bedford; grandchildren, Emma and Molly
Sutherland and Thomas Woodworth; sister, Karen Keizer (Dean);
brothers, Graham Ells (Heather) and Bob Ells (Sandy); sister-in-law,
Ethel Ells; many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was
predeceased by her brother, Gary Ells and nephews, Kyle and
Mitchell. The family will be gathering in memory of Dianne
at a later date. Donations in memory may be made to the Canadian
Cancer Society, Lung Association of Nova Scotia or a charity of your
choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral
Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
