Reiner Remers Wednesday September 8th 2021

Reiner Remers
Born in Red Lake, Ontario, on June 15, 1955, passed away peacefully at the Village at University Gates, Waterloo, on the morning of September 8, 2021. He was predeceased by his dear father, Gerhard (December 2015) and by his beloved wife Karen, nee Tweedie (July 2020). Reiner will be sadly missed by his mother Elisabeth; his brothers Gerry (Susan), Ronald, and Edward (Leslee), as well as by their children and families. Remembered fondly by Gerhard’s and Elisabeth’s families here and in Germany as well as by Karen’s family, by Val Remers (Todd) and by Lesley Remers (Doug). Reiner was very proud of his over 20 years as a security guard with Group 4. He was a championship bowler and a member of the Concordia Club for many years. He and Karen loved live concerts, their cats and special times in Perth and at Cape Chin on the Bruce Peninsula. Thank you to Sibel and the staff at Thresholds and to the Matthews neighbourhood team at the Village for their care. In lieu of flowers, donations in Reiner’s memory to Thresholds Homes and Supports or Canadian Diabetes Association are gratefully accepted. Arrangements entrusted to the Henry Walser Funeral home (cards available at the home). Reiner’s family will hold a private graveside service at Memory Gardens Cemetery (Breslau On).
