Obituary
Stan Hills passed away peacefully at the Southampton Hospital on Tuesday September 7, 2021 at the age of 90. Stanley George Hills, independent insurance broker for over 40 years. Stan Hills Insurance was a prominent business and a main stay in the downtown Southampton core. Stan served on the Southampton Town Council for many years.
Beloved husband of the late Gloria Hills (nee Akiwenzie). Stan was father to Laura Lynn (Lloyd) Walker, Michael (Mary Lou) Peer Hills, and Peter (Lenora) Schoeneweiss Hills. Grandfather to Ashley, Alicia, Brittney, Kassandra, and Nolan. Stan will also be remembered by many great grandchildren.
Survived by his sister Joan McFadden and by many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his parents John & Laura and by his brothers Horace and Walter.
Longtime member of St. Paul’s Anglican Church and St. Lawrence Masonic Lodge #131, Southampton. Stan loved Southampton, we will miss Stan’s stories and pictures of Southampton’s past.
Private family services with interment of ashes at Southampton Cemetery at a later date.
If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation, Hampton Court Retirement Villa, or to the St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Southampton.
