Aletha MacIsaac
It is with great sadness that the family of Aletha “Lee” MacIsaac (nee MacNeil) announces that she passed away surrounded by her loving family on August 29th, 2021 after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. She was born to parents John and Genevieve (Genny) MacNeil in Sydney, Nova Scotia on February 1st, 1949. She will be forever remembered and sadly missed by her loving husband of 52 years, John MacIsaac, daughter Krista (Declan) Bly, son Glen (Tracey) MacIsaac, fiercely loved grandchildren Ella, Kieran, Lilah, Emma, Keegan and Callum. She is also survived by her sisters Ann MacNeil, Mary (Colin) Waye, brother in law Michael (Louise) MacIsaac, several nephews and a niece. Along with her parents, Aletha was predeceased by her youngest sister Sandra Cotie.
Aletha’s love for her family was evident in all she did. She took great pride in the accomplishments of her children and grandchildren and supported them in any way she could. Her voice led choirs all over New Brunswick and Ontario. A music director, youth leader and music mentor, she was always giving of her time and talents. She enjoyed spending time camping with her husband John, making new friends, painting, reading and talking with her grandchildren.
She was a friend to all who knew her and had a profound faith, praying for all who she knew were in need. The void that comes with losing her will be felt by many.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the nurses and doctors of both the Cancer Centre in Kingston, as well as the Palliative Team for their love, kindness, and care for Aletha.
