Mary Louise Small 1950 2021

Obituary of Mary Louise Small
It is with great sadness that the family of Mary Louise Small announce her passing which occurred on Tuesday, August 31, 2021, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Lubec, Maine on May 13, 1950, she was a daughter of the late Melburne and Blanche (Hubley) McLellan.
Mary is survived by her loving husband, Doug Small, partner for more than 51 years; sons: Chris Small (Alison) of Hampton, NB, and Jason Small (Kimberley) of Edmonton, AB; granddaughters: Eve, Avery, and Alice; sisters Betty Ann Tait (Gerry) and Alice McLellan (Rose); as well as several extended family members.
Mary loved time with her family, especially at holiday seasons. She was known for having a house full of decorations regardless of the season, and loved collecting new pieces each year. Along with her husband, Doug, she was a charter member of the Pickwauket Lions Club and remained a member for many years. Mary was also an avid reader, often finishing 3 or 4 books in a single week. She was a fantastic wife, mom, and nanny, and will be missed by everyone who knew her.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Reid’s Funeral Home (506-832-5541), 1063 Main Street, Hampton, NB where a public visitation will take place on Tuesday, September 7, 2021 from 3:00 to 5:00PM, and 7:00 to 8:30PM. A Lions memorial service will be held at 6:30PM. A private funeral service and interment will take place at a later date.
Donations in honour of Mary may be made to the Lions Foundation of Canada (Dog Guide Program), Saint John Regional Hospital Foundation, or the charity of the donor’s choice. Personal condolences to the family and donations may be made through ReidsFH.com
