Obituary of Carolyn Ruth Chisamore
CHISAMORE (ZABEL), Carolyn Ruth
August 9, 1943 – August 29, 2021
Carolyn passed away peacefully at the age of 78, surrounded by her loving family at the Kingston General Hospital. Beloved mother to Linda Zabel (Joe Rorai), Kathy Doering (Chris Doering) and Karen Zabel (Brett Christopher). Sadly missed by her devoted soulmate Linda Watson. Loving Grandma to Sierra, Carson, and Jake Zabel Rorai, Jonah, Gracie and Annie Doering and Sophie and Clara Christopher. Carolyn was predeceased by her sister Joyce Dolan (Terry) and is survived by her dear brother Ernest Chisamore (Rosemary) and her former husband Jerry Zabel (Narjis).
Carolyn was a ray of light who made everyone feel seen, heard and loved. Despite long-term pain and suffering, her strong faith enabled her to inspire others with never-ending gratitude, positivity, and appreciation for life’s blessings, large and small. She enjoyed simple pleasures: sharing a cup of tea, listening to beautiful music, attending her spirituality group and book clubs, and spending time in her garden and at Charleston Lake. She created beautiful things that took many forms: sewing and knitting for children and grandchildren, singing in choirs and playing piano, and cooking and baking for those she loved. She touched the lives of many through her work as a therapist and as an incredible stay-at-home Mom. A heartfelt thank you is extended to the countless medical professionals in Kingston who helped her on 30-year journey with illness, and the support that she and her family received until the very end.
A service celebrating Carolyn’s life will be held in the chapel of the James Reid Funeral Home, 1900 John Counter Blvd, Kingston, on Saturday, September 4, 2021 at 1:30 pm. As seating for the service is limited due to Covid restrictions, please call the funeral home at 613-544-3411 to RSVP.
