Obituary
It is with great sadness that we the family, announce the passing of a Great Man Tendo.
Tendo leaves to mourn his partner Sylvia, their two children David George Jr. and Keely Shaye, 3 grandsons Joshua Pete (who Tendo was raising as his own), David George 3rd and Malakai Storm. Tendo’s older children Son’s David Evan and Aston; Daughter’s Maxine, Lang, Bettina and Harmonie; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; his step children Magnus, Miles, Melissa, Martina, and Mandy; step grandchildren and a great grandchild who all called him Papa T.; Sis in law Marilyn; nieces and nephews.
Tendo was predeceased by his parents Pete and Ida; brothers Peter, Wilfred, Cottie; sisters Dorothy, Virginia, and Freida; his brother in laws Tiger, Alvin, Chip; sis in law Sandy; his niece Darlene (who Tendo thought of as a sister).
Tendo loved to drive and meeting new people. He made friends where ever he went with his contagious smile.
Tendo worked as a farm hand in his younger days, then he worked for the Sandy Bay Band as a carpenter for so many years. He then went on to work for the Fine Option Program. Finally, he worked for the Sandy Bay Health Centre Medical Transportation, and what he loved to do was drive. He drove for Medical Transportation for 17 plus years when he decided to retire, and enjoy his grandsons.
Tendo will be missed by many, his closest friends, just to mention a few were Jimmar, Wesley Chippeway, Dave Choken, Harry George, and Clemance A.
The family would like to say Thank You to Chief and Council, Sandy Bay Health Centre, and to the other organizations in Sandy Bay, and from friends and family for the kindness and donations. Extended big Thank You to Clarke’s Funeral Home, Portage Hospital, St. Boniface Hospital, and to the Health Sciences Centre, as well as Dr. Finney, Dorothy and Glenda from the Portage Clinic.
