Obituary of Larry Richards
Larry passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side at Grey Bruce Health Services in Owen Sound, on Thursday, August 26, 2021. Born on December 22, 1940, Francis Larry Richards of Owen Sound, was in his 81st year.
Dearly loved husband of Reta Richards (nee Mahon). Loving father of Ruth Hughes (Randy), Rhonda Richards (Greg Brown) and Christine Richards (Warren Flint). Grandfather of Michelle Hughes (Danny Collins) and Meagan Wyatt (Dan) and great-grandfather of Cole Bonn, Logan Dodd and Nevaeh, Willow and Lily Collins. Dear brother of Donna Murphy (Pat). Larry will also be missed by his sister-in-law Lois Mahon and his many nieces, nephews and friends.
Predeceased by his parents William and Mary (Benedict) Richards and his in-laws Lawson and Annie Mahon and brother-in-law George Mahon.
Visitation will be held at the Brian E. Wood Funeral Home, 250 14th Street West, Owen Sound, 519-376-7492, on Monday from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. A private service to celebrate Larry’s life will be held on Tuesday, August 31, 2021 with Pastor Michael Henkel officiating. Although it is private, friends are welcome to view the service via livestream at 11:00 a.m. on the funeral home website (woodfuneralhome.ca). Interment in Greenwood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated and can be made through the funeral home. Condolences can be sent to the family by visiting Larry’s online memorial at www.woodfuneralhome.ca.
