Thelma Lee Theriault 1931 2021

Obituary of Thelma Lee Theriault
Born July 31 1931 to Annie Frost and Guy Stanton, Thellie as she liked to be called, was the 8th of 9 children. Her sister Ada was tragically lost at age 7 when Thellie was 5. It was a devastating blow to her entire family.
As a teenager she worked like most of her friends at the canning factory in Whale Cove. After high school she moved to Yarmouth where she worked at a boarding home and then at Sears. She made many dear friends in Yarmouth! She also spent 6 months in Rhode Island with her aunt Nina and uncle Cleveland.
She then returned home to marry Clark and begin to repopulate the world, having 6 of the best children you could ever find from 1957 – 1965.
She stayed home to raise these awesome children, all the while she was making bread and meals and milking the cow, and separating milk to make butter which she sold along with some of the cream. She made little girls dresses and skinned mink with her sisters Jean and Mary. She quilted with her sisters Joyce and Doris and her mom. She helped with loading and piling lobster traps and even sanded Whale Cove road with her niece Brenda when it was necessary to get the men home after fishing.
After her baby turned 9, she went to work at Small Brothers in Tiverton. Made more friends, and moved on to Digby to National Sea Products until she retired.
She was always available to look after grandchildren too! She also enjoyed a few weeks in Florida for a few years.
She lived a long full life, not as a perfect woman, but she loved God and her family with all their baggage.
She is survived by her sister Flora (Ralph) Braid and their children. Sons David (Sherry), Mark (Emma Vantassel), daughters Stephanie (Freddie)Trask, Colleen (Carmen) Crockett, Sonya (Emma) Tigerheart, Tracey (Richard Murdoch)
Grandchildren: Tyson (Amanda) Theriault, Denver (Ryan Deredin) Jillian (Josh) Hudson,
Nicholas and Lindsay Trask, Noah Theriault, Kaylen (Paige) Theriault, Jennifer (Mike) Decker, Jessica (Miguel) Godau, Janelle (Graham) Knowles.
Greatgrandchildren: Mikail and Maddox, Olivia and Sophie, Tegan, Dax and Axle,
Leena and Juliette, Lincoln, Sawyer, Winston and last but not least Everlee!
And of course many dearly loved nieces and nephews!
She is predeceased by husband Clark, sisters Joyce, Doris, Mary, Ruth, brother Frank (Eva),daughter-in-love Sandra VanTassel
Jean, and Ada. Interestingly, Jean, who was the sister she spent the most time with after marrying, died the same exact day 25 years prior.
We would like to thank Tim and Julie Long at Leila’s Lodge for the wonderful care she received there for 3 years! She made more friends there! And the last 5 1/2 months at Tideview Terrace in Digby. Thank you all for your special kindnesses to Mom. She was really pleased to be there too!
