Obituary of Ricardo Michael Rizzo, New Waterford
Ricardo Michael Rizzo, 61, of New Waterford, NS passed away suddenly on August 18, 2021 in his home.
He was born in New Waterford to Margaret Rizzo and the late Ricardo ‘Rick’ Rizzo on June 29, 1960. He worked at the Cape Breton Regional Housing for over 19 years as a dry waller and painter which he took pride in. He enjoyed baseball, hockey and loved the Chicago Blackhawks. He also enjoyed swimming, skating, watching movies, going for walks, and meeting new people. Ricardo was the kind of person who would talk to anyone.
He is survived by the love of his life for over 40 years, Donna (Blewer); daughter, Amanda (Dennis); son, Ricardo Jr. and his pride and joy, his grandson, Ben.
He was also predeceased by sister, Barbara (Hibbert); brother, Devon; maternal grandparents Jacob ‘Jack’ Jacobi and Maude (Wilson); paternal grandparents, Ricardo and Aralia Rizzo.
He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Visitation will be held at V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 380 Smith Street, New Waterford (dates and times to be announced). Due to Covid-19 restrictions, a private funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Duncan Roach officiating. Burial will follow in Union Grove Cemetery, Scotchtown.
