Obituary of John Russell George
George, John Russell (October 16, 1945 – January 16, 2021)
Passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side. John will be dearly missed by his wife Helen George, of 57 years of marriage. Loving father to Richard and Dean (Lisa) George, loving grandfather to Hayden George and Jordan Harris. Predeceased by his parents Pearl and Burgess George, and sister Katherine Miller (George), and by his brother Leo George, all from Parrsboro, Nova Scotia. He is survived by his sister Leona Willigar (George) and brothers Arthur and Steven George. John is also survived by his brothers in law Allen (Judy) Dowe and Kenneth (Carol) Dowe, sisters in law Leonna Dowe, Ruby Crossman, Althea (Pat) Legere and Faye (William) George. He had many great nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews. He will be dearly missed and loved by all who knew him. A private family service will be held on Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at Jones Funeral Home. The family invites you to live stream the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Peter Munk Cardiac Centre at the Toronto General Hospital.
*As directed by the Bereavement Authority of Ontario, attendance at a funeral is restricted to 10 people at our funeral home. A record of attendance must be maintained. Wearing of masks by everyone is mandatory during their time in the funeral home. Those not attending may view the service via live stream.
