McKAY Bernice Ellen nee Omoth September 2 1920 — July 31 2021

McKAY, Bernice Ellen (née Omoth)
September 2, 1920 — July 31, 2021
Bernice McKay passed away peacefully at the Spring Valley Care Centre on July 31, 2021, at age 100.
Born to the late Ted and Grace Omoth on September 2, 1920, in Milestone, SK. Bernice lived in Saskatoon, SK and Port Moody, BC. For the past nine years, she has lived in Kelowna, BC.
An avid curler (65 years in the sport), a stay-at-home mom, and a great cook, Bernie was generous, kind, and sweet. She will be deeply missed.
She goes to join her husband “Micky” David McKay; her parents; and brother Marvin Omoth. She leaves behind her children Bob (Lorraine) McKay, of North Vancouver, BC, and Marilyn (Fred) McRae of Kelowna, BC; her grandchildren Tania (Al) Reid, David (Gil) McKay, Shannon (Michael) Bauche, Nicole (Matt) Delesalle, Kelly (Pax) Harness; her ten great-grandchildren; as well as her sister Doris Nelson and brother Arnold Omoth.
Your smile is gone forever,
Your hands we cannot touch,
all we have is memories
of the one we love so much.
You didn’t deserve what
you went through
and so He gave you rest.
God’s garden must be beautiful,
He only takes the best.
And when we saw you sleeping
so peaceful and free from pain,
we could not wish you back
to suffer that again.
A private service will be held on her birthday to honour Bernice.
