Clayton Joseph Cure
April 7th, 1961 – July 24th, 2021
It is with heavy hearts and immense sadness the family of Clayton Joseph Cure announces his peaceful passing at home the morning of July 24th, 2021, after a short battle with cancer. Although his battle was short, he fought hard until the bitter end.
Clayton was born in Rossland B.C on April 7th, 1961. He spent his childhood and teenage years growing up in Rossland before relocating to the Lower Mainland. He then moved to the Okanagan before relocating back to the Kootenays in 2003. Clayton was blessed with 3 wonderful children and 3 beautiful granddaughters who he cherished beyond words. He was also blessed with a son-in-law and daughter-in-law who he loved as his own.
He enjoyed making people smile and laugh and will fondly be remembered for his sense of humour. Clayton was also a huge animal lover, he especially adored his dogs Emma, Coco, birds Fred, Johnny, and his “grand kitties” Ranger, Luna, Rex, and Milly. He enjoyed the simple things in life, driving around to adventure with his wife Maureen, spending time with his children, listening to his favourite tunes, and enjoying a good cup of coffee with his buddies. Some of his favourite hobbies included detailing cars, drawing, building model cars, and attending garage sales.
He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Maureen, precious children Christopher (Mel), Kathleen (Brandon), and Zachary, sister Linda Schneider, brother Jim Merrifield (Norma), granddaughters Nevaeh, Bodhi, and Indie, ex-wife Kathy (Geoff), in addition to many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and lifelong friends. He was predeceased by his parents Phyllis and Clayton Cure, as well as brothers Wayne Cure, Larry Mitchell, and Lorne Ruelle.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday August 20th, 2021, at 11 am at the Warfield Community Hall. We invite family and friends to come share a laugh, shed a tear, and tender-heartedly reminisce their memories of Clayton.
