Obituary of Frances Marjorie Brown
It is with sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our Mum at the age of 94. Residing in Tenecape, she was born in Walton on October 24, 1926 and was a daughter of the late John William and Stella Cashman (Parker) Brown. Mum passed away peacefully on Monday, August 2, 2021, surrounded by her family, in Hants Community Hospital, Windsor.
Frances moved to Tenecape and raised her five children, ran a small mixed farm for many years and later ran a successful home baking business which was in high demand. Later in life she ran a high-end antique shop for many years. An independent woman she was self employed most of her life. She loved her German shepherd dogs who kept her safe. She also met her companion, Francis Card and they spent 25 years together before his passing on June 23, 2011. Mum and Frank travelled the world from Texas to the Eiffel Tower in France.
She is survived by her daughters, Wendy Frances Brown (James Armstrong); Marian Louise (John) Campbell; Brenda Lee (Daniel) Cox and Patricia Alice Brown (Robert Daniels); son, Reginald “Mark” Brown (Christine Harvey); nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Reginald Boyd Brown; sister, Marguerite Croft and her companion, Francis “Frank” Card.
Arrangements for cremation have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317). There will be a private family burial in Parker Cemetery, Walton. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Frances may be made to any branch of the SPCA.
