Death Notice
ADAM, Joyce – Peacefully at University Hospital on Saturday, July 31, 2021. Muriel Joyce Adam, nee Walker, of London formerly of Coldwater in her 90th year. Beloved wife of the late Wesley Adam. Loving mother of Natalie Reikman and her husband Tom of Waterloo, Jeffrey Adam of London, Cheryl Hackett and her husband Jeff of London. Lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Eric and his wife Katrina, Christina, Abigail and her husband William, Emmett, Will, Montana and Kurtis. Will be missed by her sister, Marina Raymond and her husband Lloyd of Orillia and sister-in-law, Patricia Adam (the late Jim). Joyce will be fondly remembered by her nieces, nephews, extended family and her church family.
Born & raised on the Walker family farm outside Coldwater, Ontario. She lived in Barrie, Montreal and finally in London for the last 54 years. She was a Bell Operator, worked for the Church of St. Jude and at Eaton’s. Her greatest joy was her grandchildren and attending all their activities with Wes.
At The Church of St. Jude she was a long-standing member of the Anglican Church Women. Her involvement with her own children’s activities included the Stoneybrook Sports Association, the Ilderton Winter Club, and as the treasurer for the Amabile Youth Singers. She was dedicated to raising her own family as well as making the long trips home to stay connected to her extended family. Holidays were spent at the family farm plus Gill Reunions and Christmases in July. New Year’s Eve was spent with friends playing games and sharing food.
She loved spending time outdoors, walking, biking & cross country skiing. Other outdoor activities included tending her vegetable garden & flowers. She kept her bird feeders full and watched intently for all the species that visited.
Visitation by appointment at Harris Funeral Home on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm; RSVP to 519-433-7253. A memorial service will be conducted at the Church of St. Jude on Saturday, August 7 at 1 pm; please register to attend (capacity is limited): rsvp.church/r/w6txhKi3
