Obituary of BAUKE DOUWE VOGELZANG
VOGELZANG, Bauke – Died peacefully at Parkview Meadows on Monday July 26, 2021, of Waterford at the age of 88. He was a beloved son, brother, husband, father, and grandfather. Bauke moved to Norfolk County from the Netherlands in 1960 with his bride, Nelly, and became a farm owner and operator in the Waterford area by 1965. He was a member of St. Bernard’s Roman Catholic Parish, and a long-term member of the choir there. He and Nellie bowled in the Newcomer’s Bowling league for many years. He became active in many farm related organizations and was inducted into the Norfolk County Agricultural Hall of Fame in 2018. He also served on the Tricenturena Figure Skating Club board during the late 1970’s and early 1980’s. Beloved husband of the late Nelly (Boxma), and Corrie Tromp. Loved father of Bob (and Michele), Lisa (and Richard) Morrison. Proud grandfather of Matthew (and Jennifer), Alyssa (and Jamie), Lauchlin, Alida (and Sumit), Dominique, and Fraser. Dear brother of Elizabeth, Marie, Anna, Berber, Petra, Dave, Monique, and Hannie. Predeceased by brothers Sjouke, Jan, and sister Gretha. A private family Mass will be held at St. Bernard of Clairvaux Parish. Donations to Parkinson Society or Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family. Funeral arrangements are entrusted with THOMPSON-MOTT FUNERAL HOME, Waterford, 519-443-5332.
