Obituary of Joyce Knott
Joyce passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side at Grey Gables in Markdale, on Friday, July 23, 2021. Born on October 4, 1935, Marion Joyce Knott (née Beattie) of Owen Sound, was in her 86th year.
Dearly loved wife of the late Garfield Knott. Loving mother of Darlene Morrison (Ken Wilcox) of Waubaushene, Tammy Rice of Meaford and mother-in-law of Peter Menard of Markdale and step-mother of Jim Knott (Dawn) of Balmy Beach and Larry Knott (Shannon), of Owen Sound. Proud grandmother of many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Joyce will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Predeceased by her parents, Andrew and Mary Beattie (nee Leask), her siblings, Marie Dewar, Shirley Nash and twin brother James Beattie, her son Roy Morrison and step-daughter Elaine Knott, and grandson Adam Rice.
A funeral service for Joyce Knott will be held in the chapel of the Brian E. Wood Funeral Home, 250 14th Street West, Owen Sound, Ontario N4K 3X8 519-376-7492, on Wednesday, July 28, 2021 with Rev. Jim Wyllie officiating. Interment in Greenwood Cemetery. With COVID 19 restrictions guests must wear a mask, follow social distancing protocols and schedule a time by calling the funeral home or RSVP through the website. Friends are welcome to view the service at 2:00 p.m. via livestream on the funeral home website (woodfuneralhome.ca).
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society of Grey-Bruce, Grey Gables Activation Department or the charity of your choice would be appreciated and can be made through the funeral home.
