Obituary of Andrew William Mansfield
MANSFIELD, Andrew William – age 71 of Maitland, passed away peacefully on July 21, 2021 in Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born on November 30, 1949 in Halifax, he was a son of the late George and Margaret (Robbe) Mansfield.
Andrew was a former member of the Maitland and District Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed fishing, family get togethers, horses, riding his bike and long walks with his common-law wife, Margaret.
He is survived by his son, Leo; common-law wife, Margaret MacRae; brothers, Charles (Mary), Les (Tanya), Steven (Danielle), Edward (Laura); sisters, Rita (Phil), Dorothy (George), Kathleen (Lonny), Gladys (Scott), Patricia; 11 nieces; 11 great nieces; 8 nephews; 25 great nephews.
Besides his parents, Andrew was predeceased by his second mother, Edna (Harrison) Mansfield; brother, Leo; sister, Linda.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to his family doctor, Dr. Lorraine Pelley and staff; his throat surgeon, Dr. Rigby and staff; his radiation specialist, Dr. Wilkie and staff and the Emergency Department staff and Palliative Care Team of Colchester East Hants Health Centre.
Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Ettinger Funeral Home, Shubenacadie. A graveside service will be held at 2 PM Friday August 6th, 2021 in South Maitland Community Cemetery. Rev. Natalie Buchanan-Rutherford officiating.
Donations in Andrew’s memory may be made to the South Maitland Community Cemetery, the Maitland and District Volunteer Fire Department or to a charity of your choice.
