BARRINGTON Wayne Bernard 2021

Whitney Pier
It is with deep sadness that we, the family, announce the sudden passing of Wayne Bernard Barrington, age 61, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital on Tuesday, July 20, 2021.
Born in Sydney, Wayne was the son of the late Walter and Vonnie (Trainer) Barrington.
Nobody could tell a story like Wayne and most of them started with “Me and Greg”. He was always proud to be a guy from “The Pier”. Wayne enjoyed the simple things in life; a cold beer, a BBQ on his back deck overlooking the mouth of Sydney Harbour and times spent with his friends on Starr Court. Wayne loved to share many memories of his summers in Margaree and his yearly trips there with Greg and Donnie.
A dedicated Montreal Canadians fan he treasured cheering them on to the Stanley Cup finals this year. He is remembered by many as a car parts counter man at Atlas and B & T Battery. Wayne will be missed by all who knew him.
Wayne is survived by his wife and soulmate, Helen (Dicks); children and pride of his life, daughter, Lacey and son, Colin, both in Edmonton. He also leaves behind siblings, Raylene (Steve), David (Lynn) and Paul (Sandy); mother-in-law, Theresa Dicks ‘Nanny Theresa’; in-laws, Wanda and Ed Fedora and their children, Chris and Amy, Colleen Dicks and her sons, Nick and Tomas; as well as lifelong friends, Greg and Brenda Young and Donnie Moore.
Besides his parents, Wayne was predeceased by his sister-in-law, Debbie MacDonald Barrington; special niece, Michelle Barrington and father-in-law, Harold Dicks.
Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation or service at this time for the late Wayne Barrington.
Memorial Mass in Holy Redeemer Church, Whitney Pier will be announced at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Wayne may be made to Boys and Girls Club of Cape Breton – Whitney Pier or a charity of your choice.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care and direction of Pier Community Funeral Home.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of BARRINGTON Wayne Bernard 2021..
