It is with heavy hearts that the families of Loretta ‘Jean’ Parsons nee Payne announce her passing at the Bonne Bay Health Centre, in Norris Pt, NL, on Monday, July 19th, 2021 at the age of 81 years.
Jean was the kindest, most caring woman you could ever meet. She dedicated her life to helping others. First as a nurse’s aid, a teacher, then taking in children who were in need of a loving home. Many passed through over the years but a few stayed, becoming part of the family. She had so much love to give and her door was always open.
Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories her husband of 61 years; Rex Parsons, her children; Randy Parsons, Stanley Hatcher, Ada (Harry) Hutchings, Charles (Lori) Hodder, and Brenda Kelly, her grandchildren; Reesa (Scott), Gator (Emma), Travis (Tazna), Tiffany (Ryan), Maxine (Alan), Kenneth, Hellen, Selena (Chris), Damien (Ashley), Danica (Andy), Shaylee, Crystal (Ken), Charmaine (Amin), and Kallon (Stephaine). As well as 17 great grandchildren, her siblings; Yvonne (Franklin), Darrel, Aaron (Pam), Tony, Donna (Baxter), Cynthia (Richard), Curtis, Cedrick (Ellen), Kimberley (Brian), and Gabe (Marian), sisters-in-law; Christine, Nancy, Edna, and Josie, brothers-in-law; Gerald (Marion), and Max, other family Jackie, Wanda, Elsie. A special aunt and friend Almeda Thornhill.
She was predeceased by parents; Arthur and Opal Payne, mother and father-in-law; Eldrick and Gladys Parsons, her son; Harvey Hodder, granddaughter; Michelle Hastings, siblings; Archibald, Ivan, and Otto, her-in-laws; Sandy (Mary-Jane), Steadman, Sharon, Joyce, Beatrice (Gilbert) Lily Kate (Percy), Mildred (Henry), Daisy, and Rowena (Peter). Also leaving to mourn a large circle of nephews, nieces, extended family and friends.
The family would like to thank her home support workers; Candy Bennett, Dorothy Decker, Marian Bennett, and Jennifer Parsons, and would also like to thank the staff at the Bonne Bay Health Centre.
The family will be receiving family and friends at the St. Peter’s Anglican Church, in Parsons Pond, NL, on Tuesday July 20, 2021, from the hours of 7-9 pm, and continuing on Wednesday, July 21st, 2021 from the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 pm, where also the funeral service will take place on Thursday, July 22nd, 2021 at 2:00 pm with Rev: Terry Rose officiating with the burial to follow at the family plot of the church cemetery, in Parsons Pond, NL. We must follow all the guidelines and policies of the Covid-19, regulations.
We know that our grieving families still need to feel the same level of support from you their family, friends, loved ones and community.
