Obituary of Queenie Hatcher
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Queenie Hatcher (nee Baggs) announces her passing on Friday, July 16, 2021, after a short but courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by her loving family at Dr. Charles LeGrow Health Centre. Born in Grey River she was the daughter of Catherine Baggs and late Walter Baggs. She will be sadly missed and never forgotten by her husband Lloyd of 35 years, her daughters, Paula (Shawn) Kinslow, Stacey Hatcher (Dillon Keeping). Her three precious jewels her granddaughters, Amber Hatcher, Summer Kinslow and Lilly Hatcher. Also left to mourn with fond and loving memories her mother, Catherine Baggs, her sister, Minnie (Rod) Munden, brothers, Edward Baggs (Roxanne Poole Seymour), Walter Baggs (Martine Vallerand), James Baggs (Brenda MacLean), Sidney Baggs and Michael (Tracy) Baggs, brothers and sisters-in-laws, Deborah (Kenny) Vautier, Charmaine Hatcher (Ricky Keeping) and Craig (Sherry) Hatcher, as well large circle of nieces, nephews and friends. Queenie was predeceased by her father, Walter Baggs, mother and father- in- law, David and Christina Hatcher. Queenie had a big heart and for everyone who knew her to know her kindness and love for others. The family will receive visitors at Oceanside Funeral Home, 23 Read Street, Port-aux-Basques, on Saturday, July 17 from 7-9 p.m. and Sunday, July 18 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral service will take place on Monday, July 19th at 11:00 a.m. from St. George’s Anglican Church in Burnt Islands, with Canon Rev. Jeffrey Petten officiating. In keeping with Queenie’s wishes cremation to follow. Flowers graciously accepted or donations in memory of Queenie can be made to the family.
