Obituary
FRANKLIN, Sidney Arthur “Art” – It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of a beloved husband, father, uncle, grandfather, and great-grandfather who left us much too soon.
Art was born in Wallaceburg, Ontario, on February 15, 1933, and was welcomed into the arms of Jesus on Tuesday, July 13, 2021, at South Muskoka Memorial Hospital in Bracebridge, after a prolonged illness. He was in his 89th year. He fought bravely and faithfully throughout his illness and was an inspiration to all who knew him. Art leaves behind his wife, Patricia, of 63 years, and four children; Terry Franklin (Linda d.2021), Gary Franklin (Joanne), Tammy Blais (Ray), and Scott Franklin (Brent McNabb).
Art was a skilled carpenter who took part in many projects in the Muskokas where he resided at his time of his passing. He was a proud member of the Bracebridge Royal Canadian Legion Branch and a member of the congregation at Pine Grove Fellowship Church. Art will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
In keeping with Art’s wishes, cremation has taken place. The family wishes to extend their thanks and gratitude to Don, the many nurses of SMMH Bracebridge, and Closing the Gap.
