1946-2021
With Profound sadness the family announce his passing surrounded by loved ones at the Timmins and District Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. Lovingly remembered by his best friend and wife of 54 years, Sue (nee Mallette), his children James Pellerin (Tina), Sherrie Joanisse-Grzela (Paul) and Kim Donovan (Shawn). Also left to mourn are his grandchildren Christina Barton-Pellerin (Matt), Andrew Sergerie (Kaitlyn), Kristie Lynn Pellerin (Briar), Emily James Pellerin (Mike), Nicholas, Julia and Mykael Sergerie and Haley Joanisse. He is also survived by his 6 great grandchildren. Joe Leaves behind his siblings Elizabeth Beattie (Greg), Helen Hazelwood (Miles), Cathy Pellerin, Lynn Cunning and Art Pellerin (Dawn) and his brother in law Nick Mallette. Lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Isidore and Katherine Pellerin. Joe was a mechanic and shop foreman at Custom Concrete for 30 plus years. He loved his job and his co-workers. His infectious love of life will be carried on through his family and friends in his memory. Special thank you to the doctors and nurses at the Sudbury Cancer Centre and Timmins and District Hospital on the surgical -3 floor and the palliative care unit, for their care and compassion. As per Joe’s wishes and due to the current pandemic restrictions a celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, remembrance donations to Northern Cancer Foundation or to the Timmins and District Hospital Foundation would be greatly appreciated. The funeral arrangements have been entrusted with the MIRON-WILSON FUNERAL HOME, Cremation and Reception Centre, 150 Balsam St. S., Timmins.
