William (Bill) Scrimgeour passed away on July 7, 2021 surrounded by his family and best friend Joe Gale (Chris) at Campbell House Hospice, Collingwood. He was raised in Goderich, Ontario, son of Harvey and Grace (Finch). He leaves behind his partner and wife Marlene Williamson, step-children Mark Williamson, Holly Hynes, and Patti Grossmann (Micheal Cullip). He adored his grandchildren Mya, Alyssa, Tehya, Tyler and Ryke and always looked forward to spending time with them.
For over 50 years, Bill served members of the Canadian Armed Forces and their Families as a barber at CFB Borden. He loved his job and the conversations that were had while they were in his chair and with the many people he worked with.
He was a man who could strike up a conversation and could fit in anywhere, especially with his groups of friends who frequented Tim Horton’s and McDonald’s.
He was a kind, humble man who had a quirky funny smile with a great sense of humour. Always singing or whistling a tune to his own beat. He had a great love for food and cars with lots of valuable knowledge in which he passed along to his children and others.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to LIHN, Saint Elizabeth Home Care and to Campbell House Hospice in Collingwood for their extraordinary care. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends. Cremation has taken place and a private ceremony will follow. A celebration of life will be planned at a later date. In memory of Bill and in lieu of flowers, if desired, donations may be made to Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 63, Local Food Bank at the Salvation Army Collingwood, and Campbell House Hospice in Collingwood hospicegeorgiantriangle.com/donate/.
