Doris Malayko 2021

Obituary for
Doris Malayko
It is with a heavy heart and much love that we announce the passing of our mother Doris. Surrounded by her family’s love, Doris passed away peacefully on July 10, 2021 at the age of 92.
Doris will be lovingly remembered and missed dearly by her four children, Dianne, Barry (Sharon), Edwin (Angie) and Denise. Also, to carry forth her memory and wisdom are her six grandchildren, Tamara, David (Emma), Christopher (Sarah), Landon, Katelyn (Adam), Keegan; and eight great-grandchildren, Breanna, Abby, Delia, Ellie, Ronan, Calvin, Odessa and Violette.
Doris was predeceased by her parents, George and Helen Peniuk; husband, Edward Malayko; brother, Steve Peniuk; sisters, Ann Zayonc and Mary Vertypora; infant son, Ron Malayko; and grandson, Garry Kirsh.
Doris was born on November 2, 1928 to parents, George and Helen Peniuk, in Vilna Alberta. There she gained her love of music, animals and deep knowledge of the importance of family. Her kind, generous nature along with her beauty, caught the eye of Edward Malayko, who Doris married on October 31, 1946. The two remained committed to each other until Edwards passing in 1992.
Doris loved spending quality time with each of her children. We will forever cherish our daily phone conversations, weekly hair appointments, and just sitting with each other in her love.
Doris loved to dine out with her family, whether inside the local restaurant or within the trees enjoying a gourmet wiener roast. Her sense of humor and feisty spirit were welcomed in any setting and Doris was never shy to share in teasing those around her, she was full of energy and zest.
When not with her family, she loved to drive and could be found “under the B” at her favorite Bingo Hall. She loved playing Bingo and enjoyed being with her many close friends at the Bingo Hall, who are encouraged to play a card in Doris’ honour. Doris’ love and laughter will also be deeply missed by her sisters, Leona, Irene and Gloria.
